Sealer and Application

Description

• Specially formulated blend of water-based acrylic polymers that provides both a stain resistant surface seal and a durable low-sheen finish.

• Terra cotta

Expected Wear

• 1 to 8 years under normal conditions, depending on hardness and texture of the surface.
• Extreme weather conditions, harsh cleaning methods and solvent cleaners will affect wear.

Coverage

• Approximately 300 to 100 sq. to 1000 sq. ft. (28m2 to 93m2) per cost per gallon.
• Varies depending on hardness on type of tile, porosity and texture of surface, temperature, humidity and method of application.

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS TEST A SMALL AREA FIRST TO DETERMINE DESIRED RESULTS.

Method of Application

• Read entire label before using.
• Allow grout to cure a minimum of 48 Hours prior to sealing.
• Surface must be clean, dry and free of previously applied sculars and coatings
• Apply 1 to 3 coats with dense sponge, short-nap paint pad applicator, synthetic mop or white cotton towels.
• For best results, rub each coat into surface.
• Do not allow sealer to dry on applicator. Rinse applicator with water between coats.
• Allow 30 minute drying time between coats.
• Conduct a test to determine if surfaces completely sealed after 2 hours by applying water droplets to the surface. If water is absorbed, apply an additional coat.
• For higher sheen finish on interior surfaces only, apply AQUA MIX FLOOR SHINE & HARDENER over SEAL & FINISH

Limitations

• ALWAYS TEST A SMALL AREA first to determine ease of application and desired results; test for stain repellency using likely contaminants.
• Glove & eye protection should be worn during application.
• Avoid puddling and rundown.
• Machine buffing will lower slip resistance; keep surface clean and dry to reduce possibility of slip-fall accidents.
• Do not use solvent-based strippers or cleaners, as they will adversely affect or remove the sealer.

Cure Time

• Ready for surface traffic in 2 hours.
• Sealed area should be kept dry at least 5 hours.
• Will achieve a full cure in 24 hours.

Handling and Storing

• Use full-strength; do not dilute.
• Store tightly capped in original container to prevent evaporation.
• Do not allow product to freeze in bottle, as it will not return to usable condition.
• Store tightly capped in original container in temperature between 10º & 27º.

Ongoing maintenance

• Use AQUA MIX TILE & GROUT CLEANER and/or AQUA MIX TILE PLUS MORE CLEANER.
• Reapply SEAL & FINISH as needed.
